JUNE 25 - FRIDAY
ARRIVAL IN LEH
The family arrives in Leh and checks into the hotel. Take the rest of the day to rest, adjust to the altitude, and settle into the crisp Himalayan air before the adventure begins. In the evening, enjoy a short walk around Leh Market and explore the local shops and surroundings.
JUNE 26 - SATURDAY
ACCLIMATIZATION

A relaxed day exploring Leh, visiting local monasteries and scenic viewpoints while getting comfortable with the altitude. We’ll be back at the hotel by 4 PM, giving the family plenty of time to rest and prepare for the days ahead.

DAY 2
JUNE 27 - SUNDAY
LEH TO KHARDUNG LA TO NUBRA VALLEY
170km
We kick off early at 6 AM and make our way over Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at 17,830 ft. From the pass, we descend into the vast Nubra Valley and settle in for the night at around 11,000 ft. In the evening, the family can enjoy an optional camel ride across the sand dunes of Hunder before winding down for the night.

JUNE 28 - MONDAY
NUBRA TO PANGONG LAKE TO MERAK

Today’s drive takes us toward Pangong Lake, famous for its stunning blue hues that seem to change with the light. We continue along the remote mountain roads before reaching Merak, a quiet village on the eastern shore of the lake, where we’ll spend the night at around 15,000 feet.

JUNE 29 - TUESDAY
MERAK TO HANLE TO UMLING LA TO HANLE

Today is a big day as we make our way to Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world at 19,024 ft, even higher than Everest Base Camp. From Hanle, we travel through the remote frontier landscapes of eastern Ladakh before reaching the pass. After taking in the incredible views and high-altitude surroundings, we return to Hanle for another night.
Day 5
JUNE 30 - WEDNESDAY
HANLE TO NYOMA
90km
Today we leave Hanle and travel towards Nyoma, following the remote roads through the vast landscapes of eastern Ladakh. The route takes us through wide open valleys, rugged mountains and quiet villages, with very little traffic along the way. It’s another beautiful day exploring some of the most remote parts of the Himalayas before reaching Nyoma for the night.
Day 6
JULY 1 - THURSDAY
NYOMA TO LEH
180km
Today we make our way back to Leh, traveling roughly 180 km through the wide open landscapes of Ladakh. The route follows the Indus through remote valleys and mountain roads, passing through Chumathang and Upshi before gradually returning to the familiar surroundings of Leh.
After several days exploring the remote eastern side of Ladakh, it’s a chance to slow down, take in the changing scenery, and enjoy the journey back to town.
Day 7
JULY 2 - FRIDAY
LEH SHOPPING & REST DAY
Today is free for shopping for pasalubong at Leh Market, where you can explore local shops and pick up souvenirs. Spend the rest of the day unwinding at a local restaurant or eatery and enjoying the local food before wrapping up the adventure.
Day 8
JULY 3 - SATURDAY
LEH TO DELHI
We say goodbye to the Himalayas with a morning flight from Leh to Delhi.
For Himalayas Expedition-only participants:
After arriving in Delhi, you can take a night flight out of Delhi and continue your journey home that evening.
For participants joining the Taj Mahal Extension:
Upon arrival in Delhi, we’ll enjoy a short Delhi tour before checking in at our hotel. The following day, we’ll travel by private vehicle to Agra, approximately 250 km away, for an overnight stay near the Taj Mahal.
Day 9
JULY 4 - SUNDAY
DELHI TO AGRA
250km
We leave Delhi and travel by private vehicle to Agra, a journey of around 250 km. Along the way, we’ll visit Mehtab Bagh for views across the Yamuna toward the Taj Mahal, followed by a visit to the historic Agra Fort. After exploring Agra, we’ll check in at our hotel and settle in for the night.
Day 10
JULY 5 - MONDAY
TAJ MAHAL
RETURN TO DELHI
We’ll start the day with an early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, arriving in time to experience it at sunrise. After the visit, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast and check out by noon. Enjoy lunch before we make our way to the airport, with drop-off scheduled by 6 PM for your flight home.
